What is a Happy Nappy—And Why Do We Use It?
At Cub Club, we ask all babies and toddlers to wear a Happy Nappy during their swim lessons—but what is it, and why is it so important?
A Happy Nappy is a special type of reusable swim nappy designed to prevent accidents in the pool. It’s made of soft, stretchy neoprene that fits snugly around your baby’s thighs and waist, creating a secure seal that keeps everything in—even during those wiggly underwater kicks.
💡 Here’s why we use it:
Hygiene: A single accident in the pool can cause a class to be canceled and require a deep clean. Happy Nappies greatly reduce that risk by containing solids effectively.
Comfort: They’re designed to move with your baby while staying securely in place, so your little one can explore the water freely.
Eco-friendly: They’re reusable and easy to clean, making them a more sustainable option than disposables.
We follow a “double nappy system” at Cub Club: this means a disposable or reusable swim liner underneath, and a Happy Nappy on top. This is the standard in many professional swim schools and is required for safety and hygiene reasons.
Need help finding the right size or putting it on correctly? Just ask! We're always happy to help you get set up before class.
