Meet the Founder: Simona Graszl and the Heart Behind Cub Club

Hello and welcome to Cub Club! I’m Simona Graszl, the founder and heart behind this little swimming community—and I’d love to share a bit about how it all started.

I was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, and for the first few years of my life, I was absolutely terrified of water. I remember how overwhelming it felt. But when I was four, we moved to Italy, and that’s where everything changed. I met a swim teacher who saw me, understood me, and gently taught me how to feel safe and confident in the water. That experience stuck with me—it didn’t just teach me how to swim, it gave me a lifelong love for the water.

From there, I spent most of my childhood by the poolside. I started out as a swimmer, tried my hand at water polo for a while, and eventually found my passion in synchronized swimming. I even trained with the Olympic team at one point, which was an unforgettable experience.

Today, I’m trained to Swim England standards and focus on early childhood swimming, which is where my heart truly lies. As a mother of two neurodivergent children, I also understand how important it is to create a gentle, sensory-aware environment for little ones who may find the water overwhelming.

Cub Club is more than just a swim school—it's a space where children can feel safe, grow confident, and have fun in the water, no matter their starting point. I can’t wait to welcome you to our community.
